Controls

The EMS eclips control is the most advanced freight door control system in the industry.

As with passenger doors, freight elevator doors and gates should neither slam shut nor open with a jolt. Over time, this action not only damages the internal mechanisms that control the elevator’s operation, but also are jarring to the freight and passengers.

The EMS control system tracks the position of the door as it opens and closes. As the doors approach the fully open position, they decelerate to a gradual stop. Similarly, as the doors approach the fully closed position, they smoothly decelerate for a silent, slam-free closure synonymous with the modern, luxury elevator.

This innovative computerized closed-loop feedback system sends exact position information from the door or gate directly into a microprocessor control. Each open and close cycle is continuously monitored so adjustments to the motor can be made “on the fly” to assure constant, outstanding performance. The result is quiet, continually smooth operation.

Wiring packages
EMS packages are complete with the necessary landing door wiring to run back to the door controller along with a complete car gate traveler to carry the signals back to the door controller.
Supply voltage
EMS controller can be arranged to operate on input voltages ranging between 208VAC to 600 VAC, 3 phase, 50/60 cycle. Any transformers required will be supplied by EMS Group.
Sequence Operation
Sequence operation for freight elevators is defined as hoistway doors opening substantially prior to car door/gate opening. In closing, the car door/gate closes substantially prior to the hoistway door closing.
Momentary Push-button Operation
Momentary pressure on the open or close push-button is standard operation for all EMS freight installations.
Fireman's Operation
EMS controller is designed to provide Fireman's Phase I, II and Fireman's hod door operation in accordance with national and local codes.
Hold Down Feature
This feature will re-open the doors if they should try to bounce closed during trucking across the lower door panel. This feature is standard on the EMS Closed Loop System and can be field activated by entering a simple code sequence.
Automatic Opening
EMS doors are arranged to receive an input signal from the elevator control to trigger an opening sequence.
Automatic Closing
With a field selectable time duration between 5 seconds and 5 minutes is available on all EMS controllers. It can be field activated by entering a simple code sequence. See EMS System Manual for details.
Constant (Maintained ) Pressure Close Operation
This feature is available on all EMS controllers and can be field-activated by entering a simple code sequence. See EMS Service Manual for details.
Sounder/flasher
Environment
EMS controller is mounted in a NEMA 1 enclosure. Enclosures to meet all other NEMA ratings are available upon request.
